Gambaran Infestasi Dan Faktor Risiko Soil-Transmitted Helminth Pada Murid SD Kelas 1 Di Wilayah Urban Dan Rural Di Kecamatan Rumbai Pesisir
STH infestation is a disease that often found in children in urban and rural areas in Indonesia. School-age children are one of the populations at risk of STH infestation. There are several risk factors that cause this infestation such as individual hygiene, parents' socio-economic and environmental sanitation. The purpose of this study was to determine the STH infestations and risk factors in urban and rural areas. The type of this research is descriptive with cross-sectional method. This research was conducted on elementary school students in the urban and rural areas of Rumbai Pesisir District. The population in this study were grade 1 elementary school students. The sample size were 97 students. Stool sample were collected with stool pots, meanwhile individual hygiene and environmental sanitation were asked with questionnaire. This study found that the incidence of STH in urban and rural were still in the low category, namely 3.9% and 10%. Individual hygiene in the two regions were classified as good, while the social economic of parents in rural areas were higher than urban areas because there were many parents with low education (65%) and were mostly farmers (60%). Environmental sanitation factors in both regions were classified as good. Conclusion of STH infestations in both regions were low with higher risk factors in rural areas.
