This research is motivated by the low of science learning outcomes of grade III students of SDN 191 Pekanbaru. This is because learning done in class IIIC SDN 191 Pekanbaru tends to be Teacher Centered. The teacher teaches with a direct learning model. Teachers lecture and give assignments, while students listen, record and memorize the material given by the teacher. The lack of cooperation between fellow students so that students are less active in learning and students cannot make decisions in discussion in solving a problem. This study aims to determine the effect of learning outcomes of students who learn to use a cooperative model of type decision making. This type of research is Pre Experimental research with research subjects in third grade students of SDN 191 Pekanbaru. The results of the study showed that there was an effect of the application of the open-ended approach to the learning outcomes of science in third grade students of SDN 191 Pekanbaru. This can be seen from the increase in mathematics learning outcomes from the initial test average of 64.23 to 82.11 in the final test with an average increase of 0.52 in the medium category. Cooperative learning model type decision making gives an influence with a level of strong relationship with a correlation coefficient of 0.7067 and a coefficient of determination 49.94%, in other words the cooperative learning model of type decision making affects student learning outcomes
