Perkawinan Adat Batak Mandailing Perantauan Sebagai Sebuah Sistem Tindakan Di Kota Batam

The Customary Marriage in Batak Community is not only the marriage of two brides but also the Batak Customary Marriage with including elements of Dalihan Na Tolu. This research used functional theory by Talcott Parson with the concept of AGIL to explain the adaptation of Mandailing Batak Community at Batam City in maintaining the traditional Mandailing Batak marriage. The data analysis used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection thecniques in this research were purposive with the number of informans are 7 peoples consisting of tradition leader, hatobangon and influential community leaders at Tembesi Lestari, Tembesi Town, Sagulung District, Batam City. The result of research in field there were some processes before the occurrence of marriage, including an arranged marriage, the maresek event (the introductory process between parents of both), the propose, martahi (discussion) that there are three processes in martahi tot, martahi sabagas, and martahi sahuta, the solemnization of marriage, horja pabuat boru (mangupa upa and mangalehen mangan), the bridal departure (mangolat, manyantan), the reception and finally marsarak hudon (closing committee). Dalihan Na Tolu role in customary marriage is very important, the role of each element in Dalihan Na Tolu is very influential in every smooth event of the Mandailing Batak traditional marriage
