Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) Di SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru
This study aims to determine the school literacy movement in SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The subjects were the principal, vice principal, homeroom teacher and student representatives. The object of this research is in accordance with the research problem. Data collection were observation, interviews, documentation and literature. Data were processed throught several stages : data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The results of this study shows that SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru has been running in the third year and in the habituation phase. At this phase there are 10 indicators of success that have been achieved and will continue the development phase. Supporting factors for the school literacy movement in SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru : student reading interest, regulary scheduled school literacy activities, active participation by school residents, involvement of parents and the community. Inhibiting factors for the school literacy movement in SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru : inadequate facilities and infrastructure, lack of understanding of teaching staff and education staff, the time available is still inadequate, collided with other schedules of activities.
