This study aims to determine what factors influence seaweed farming in North Rupat District and the contribution of seaweed farming to the income of farmers in North Rupat District.
This study the total population of the study was all farmers cultivating seaweed in North Rupat District, namely as many as 50 farmers, because the number of farmers was less than 100, the method of sample collection carried out by the census method was the entire population sampled. The analytical method used is descriptive quantitative by using multiple linear regression analysis and income contribution analysis.
Based on the results of the study it is known that the factors that influence seaweed farming in Rupat Utara District are capital, experience of seaweed cultivation, seaweed cultivation land and the number of seeds used are factors that influence seaweed production in North Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency. This can be seen from the results of the F test which obtained a significant value of 0,000 small from 0.05. While partially only capital and the number of seeds that affect the production of seaweed cultivation. The contribution of seaweed farming to the total income of seaweed farmers is still low, which has a contribution of 37.55%.
