This study aims to determine the role of sustainable food household areas (KRPL) on increasing the welfare of farmer households in Rumai District, Pekanbaru City.
In this study the total population of the study was all members of the female farmer group who participated in the program in the sustainable food household area (KRPL) of the District of Rumbai, as many as 202 people. The sampling technique in this study was proportional random sampling using the calculation of the Slovin formula with a tolerance level of 10% so that respondents obtained as many as 67 samples. The measurement carried out in this study was to use a questionnaire while the technique was analyzed by descriptive analysis.
Based on the results of the study, it was found that the activities of women farmers in sustainable food house areas (KRPL) in Rumbai District provided welfare for the farmer family, although not too large but the production could contribute little to the expenditure costs of farm households in sustainable food, this is because sustainable food house area activities (KRPL) are a side activity for women as housewives, because in general husbands have basic jobs
