Biologi Reproduksi Ikan Gabus (Channa Striata Bloch, 1793) Di Waduk Sei Paku Kecamatan Kampar Kiri Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau

Snakehead fish (Channa striata) is one of freshwater fish species that inhabit the Sei Paku Reservoir. A study aims to find out the reproductive biology of C. striata has been done in February to April 2019. The fish was sampled 6 times, once/2 weeks. Parameters measured were sex ratio, gonad maturity level, Gonad Somatic Index (GSI), fecundity and egg diameter. Total fish sampled was 97, consisting of 54 males and 43 females captured and the sex ratio was 1:1. Size at maturity in male was 364 mm (TL), while that of females was 311 mm (TL). The males were in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th maturity levels, and also that of the female were in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th maturity levels. The Gonad Somatic Index (GSI) of male ranged from 0,01%-1,05%, while that of the females was 0,04%-3,42%. The fecundity was 27.374-54.248 eggs/fish and egg diameter was 0.8-1.1 mm.
