Studi Komparatif Struktur Jaringan Insang Ikan Julung-Julung (Hemirhamphodon Sp.) Di Perairan Umum Universitas Riau Dan Sungai Tarai Provinsi Riau
Hemirhamphodon sp. is a type of fresh water fish that inhabit the waters around the University of Riau and in the Tarai River. The water around University of Riau has relatively good water quality, while the Tarai River has polluted waters. The water condition of the rivers may affect the fish health status in general. A study aims to understand the histological structure of the gill of fish from waters around the University of Riau and the Tarai River has been conducted from April-May 2018. Gill structure’s abnormality level was identified using a Histopathological Alteration Index (HAI). Results shown that the gill structure of Hemirhamphodon sp. from waters around University of Riau and Tarai River has slight abnormalities. The HAI values indicate that the gill structure of the fish from both areas are normal. The HAI value of gill structure of Hemirhamphodon sp. from waters around University of Riau is 1.7, while that of the Tarai River is 3. Those values indicate that the gill structure of fish from both sampling areas is relatively normal and the abnormalities present might be recovered.
