Pengembangan Handout Berbasis Model Inkuiri Terbimbing Serta Pengaruhnya Terhadap Kemampuan Berfikir Kritis Dan Hasil Belajar Siswa
Based on the science learning process carried out by researchers at 25 Pekanbaru Senior High School there were several problems, namely: teachers had not used handout teaching materials, teachers were not skilled in using learning models that could explore students 'critical thinking, students' critical thinking skills were still low, cognitive learning outcomes had not yet reached KKM , and scientific attitudes to investigating skills are lacking. Based on the background of the problem, the formulation of the problem in this development research is:
1. How are the quality of inquiry-based handouts developed,
2. How is the use of inquiry-based handouts on students' critical thinking skills,
3. What is the effect of using inquiry-based handouts on student learning outcomes.
The aim of this study
1. To develop an inquiry-based handout design
2. To see the effect of handouts through the inquiry learning model of students' critical thinking abilities
3. To see the influence of handouts through inquiry learning models on student learning outcomes.
The benefit of this research is that the resulting handouts are supplementary teaching materials that can train students to think critically through scientific investigations which can then contribute to learning outcomes.
This study consisted of two stages, namely stage I development of handouts and stage II, namely the experimental stage. The parameters measured were critical thinking and learning outcomes consisting of the value of the pretest posttest, and normalized N-gain. The instruments used in this study consisted of learning devices and data collection instruments consisting of interviews, validation sheets, and questionnaires. In the phase II study the design used was the experimental design of the pretest posttest control group design.
The results showed that the overall score of the handout validation was 4.00 with a valid category. The results of the assessment of students' critical thinking skills for the group given guided inquiry showed that they met good criteria.
