Analisis Dampak Alih Fungsi Lahan Gambut Menjadi Hti Akasia Dan Restorasi Terhadap Populasi Mikroba Dan Respirasi Tanah
Peatlands in the Biosphere Reserve GSK-BB, Riau are mostly converted into Timber Plantation (TP) Acacia, oil palm plantation and settlements. Peatland conversion will affect the population and soil microbial activity. Population and soil microbial activity are indicators that are sensitive to soil quality. This research aimed to analyze the impact of peatland conversion into a TP Acacia and restoration through soil physicochemical was determined using standard method, total microbial population of Copiotrophic, Oligotrophic and fungi was quantified using Total Plate Count (TPC) method, and soil respiration rate was measeured using alkali method. Soil samples were taken in five different locations, namely secondary forest, restored land, TP Acacia 1 year, 2 year and 3 year (Rotation III). The resultd ofthis study for pH, temperature, weight of volume, dry weight, water content and porosity, ranged from 3,63- 3.97, 27,0 – 29,0 oC, 0,20- 0,25 gr/cm3, 0,17- 0,28 g, 252,79- 424,29 % and 65,28- 84,55 %. Total population of Copiotrophic bacteria ranged from 1,00-6,67 x109 CFU/g soils. Total population of Oligotrophic bacteria ranged from 1,07-7,83 x109 CFU/g soils. Total population of Fungi ranged from 3,60- 4,43 x105 CFU/g soils. Soil respiration rate enriched with glucose is relatively higher than soil respiration rate without glucose. Soil respiration rate enriched with glucose renged from 158,55 – 287,64 mg CO2/g soil /hour. Soil respiration rate without glucose ranged from 94,36-233,47 mg CO2/g soil/hour. The result showed that land conversion affects the total population of Copiotrophic and Oligotrophic bacteria and soil respiration rate enriched with glucose can be used as indicator of the quality of peatlands. On other hand, peatland conversion did not show a significant impact on total fungi population and Soil respiration rate without glucose.
