Gambaran Karakteristik Individu Dan Tingkat Stres Pada Penderita Diabetes Melitus (Dm) Tipe Ii
Abstract
Type II diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the chronic diseases caused by various factors such as age, sex, education, and work. Someone with DM has higher stress. Stress causes excessive production of the hormone glucagon and cortisol which function to increase blood sugar levels. The aim of the study was to describe the individual characteristics and stress levels in patient with type II DM. The research design is simple descriptive. Samples were taken with accidental sampling techniques totaling 89 respondents. The measuring instrument used was the depression anxiety stress scale questionnaire (DASS) which was modified and tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used univariate analysis. The results showed mostly respondents were 56-64 years old 46 respondent (51.7%), the majority of the sex is female were 55 respondents (61.8%), the majority of them were 80 respondents (89, 9%), education is mostly primary education by 55 respondents (61.8%), the majority of light workers are 63 respondents (70.8%), most suffer from DM> 5 years by 52 respondents (58.4%) and the most stress level is moderate stress by 30 respondents (33.7%). It recommended for health workers at the Public Health Center to provide education on 4 of DM management (education, diet, exercise, pharmacological intervention) and stress control, so DM can be controlled.
