Gambaran Body Mass Index Pada Pasien Hemodialisis
Abstract
People with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) who underwent must always evaluate their needs which play a role in maintaining body weight in the normal range that can be seen from the Body Mass Index (BMI). The purpose of this study was to determine the description of BMI in hemodialysis patients. This research was conducted in Lancang Kuning Hospital Pekanbaru using a descriptive design. The sample in this study was taken using non-probability sampling using inclusion criteria. The samples of this study were 33 respondents who underwent hemodialysis. The measuring instrument for calculating BMI on this study uses weight scale to measure weight and microtoise staturmeter to measure the respondent”s height. The description of respondents underwent hemodialysis as much as 66.7% was in the span of 1-5 years. The most common comorbidities of respondents were hypertension with a total of 57.6%. The highest BMI at the time of hemodialysis was in the category of obesity as much as 60.6%. The results of BMI of respondents during this study were the most in the normal category of 42.4% and the least category of them are on the overweight category of 6,1%. This research is expected to be useful as information about the nutritional status of hemodialysis patient especially BMI of hemodialysis patient.
