Hubungan Penggunaan Smartphone Dengan Perilaku Sosial Anak Usia Sekolah
Abstract
Smartphones is a mobile phone with the ability that almost reach computers which are currently used by all ages, include school-aged children. This study aims to determine the relationship between smartphone usage and social behavior of school-aged children. The design of this research is descriptive correlation research with cross sectional approach. The sample was 150 students of Elementary School 83 Pekanbaru who were taken by stratified random sampling technique with the inclusion criteria. The instruments used are modification of SAS-SV and social behavior that had been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used by chi-square test. The result showed that 60% children already have smartphone with duration of use 1-2 hours per day, the application that is often used is youtube (24.6%), parent watching over their children while using smartphone (68,7%). The results of this study indicate that the higher of smartphones usage, tends the social behavior of children to be bad (54.9%). The conclusion of this study, there was a relationship between smartphone usage and social behavior in school-aged children (p value 0,000; α 0,05). This study recommends parents and teachers to provide strict rules in smartphones usage because it can affect social behavior children.
