This study describes the relationship and contribution of the Kawasan Industri Dumai (KID) to the Dumai City Government as a form of KID participation in the development activities of Dumai City. This study describes the contribution of the Kawasan Industri Dumai (KID) to the Government of Dumai City. This study aims to explore the contribution of the Kawasan Industri Dumai (KID) to the Dumai's City Government and analyze the duties and functions of the Dumai City Government in a series of activities between the Central Government and Dumai City Government in Kawasan Industri Dumai (KID) activities.
This study used a qualitative method and was conducted in the city of Dumai. This study uses informants as information objects that aim to achieve completeness in getting information. The type of data used in this study are primary data and secondary data obtained through observation and direct interviews with informants. Data analysis in the study was carried out descriptively by explaining the data systematically and objectively so that it can produce factual, actual, and accurate information.
Based on the results of this study, things have been found as follows: First, the overall impact of the Kawasan Industri Dumai (KID) activity does not have a progressive contribution to the Dumai City Government, precisely with the Kawasan Industri Dumai (KID) being a detrimental feedback for the Government of Dumai City. The two In the management of industrial development, the Dumai City government does not have the authority to empower its potential efficiently to support the production process for industries in the Kawasan Industri Dumai (KID). Third inability of the Dumai City Government in building good consolidation with the Central Government was utilized by the Central Government to monopolize activities in the Kawasan Industri Dumai (KID).
