The cause of the lightning in Pekanbaru city area needs to be detected with the problems that arise are there are several in the city area of Pekanbaru the lightning distribution is different. Therefore, an analysis of the distribution of lightning, knowing the physical magnitude and knowing the factors of lightning in the city of Pekanbaru. The goal is to observe and see the distribution of lightning that has a dependency on its influence factors, namely rainfall (mm), wind speed (knots), air pressure (mb), temperature (oC) can result in the quantity of lightning. The method was carried out using the Lightning Analysis Program v.7.2, the LD / 2000 v.5 Software Program, and the Google Earth Pro Program. Data were taken from August, September, October 2018 recorded by the Class I Meteorological Station Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru Airport with several functions to be reviewed such as rainfall (mm), wind speed (knots), air pressure (mb), temperature (oC) and environment. The results of this study indicate that the appearance of lightning was greatly influenced by wind speed, low temperatures, and the environment with the time in August, September, October 2018 has entered the rainy season. The physical amount of electricity that arises from the occurrence of lightning is particle velocity due to the cloud movement. The movement of these particles gives rise to momentum in the ions as a trigger for lightning.
