Pengaruh Masyarakat Ekonomi Asean Terhadap Daya Saing Produk Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Lokal Provinsi Riau Tahun 2015 – 2017

This research is a political economy study that describes the influence of the ASEAN Economic Community on increasing the competitive of local CPO. This research focuses on how the ASEAN economic community made the local product from Indonesia can have competitiveness in ASEAN. Indonesia is the country with the largest palm oil production in the world and that makes Indonesia the world's largest exporter of palm oil.
This is qualitative research which used descriptive methods, and collecting data from resources like books, journals, official publications, interview, observation and relevant websites. This paper used the liberelism perspective and economic integration theory from Wonnacott. The object in this research is Indonesia and Riau Province an main actor in International Relations.
The research shows that the ASEAN Economic Community made several regulations in the trade in oil palm. The regulations are made for the sake of creating a good investment climate in the ASEAN region. ASEAN makes regulations for investors. Regulations are also made in order to create a competitive business between countries, thus accelerating the economic growth of the Southeast Asia region. The regulation has succeeded in increasing the value of oil palm investments, especially in Riau.
