Pengaruh Mind Mapping Dalam Model Problem Based Learning Pada Konsep Pencemaran Lingkungan Terhadap Kemampuan Metakognitif Dan Motivasi Belajar Siswa Kelas X SMAN 7 Pekanbaru
Education is one thing that is very important in determining the quality of life of a nation. It is hoped that through education students will be able to face life in the 21st century that demands students who are productive, creative, innovative and independent through strengthening attitudes, knowledge and skills. One of the goals of education can be achieved through the learning process at school.
In accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum, biology learning should be centered on students (Student Center Learning) no longer centered on teachers (Teacher Center Learning). Students are required to play an active role in learning activities, develop concepts and interpret the learning outcomes they receive. Student independence can make it easier for students during the learning process and is related to the students' metacognitive abilities that encourage them to become their own managers and assessors of their own thinking and learning.
The metacognitive abilities of students are still not noticed by the teacher, as seen from the efforts of students who have not been optimal during the learning process, immature learning planning and the ability of students to think about their weaknesses in learning and finding appropriate solutions, is still lacking. Most students still experience difficulties in completing assignments and the learning process is still based on instructions from the teacher, not based on one's own abilities. Students have not been facilitated to monitor the progress of their learning and have not been facilitated to evaluate learning outcomes. Therefore a research problem solving regarding the influence of Mind Mapping in the Problem Based Learning Model on the Concept of Environmental Pollution on Metacognitive Ability and Learning Motivation of Class X Students of SMAN 7 Pekanbaru.
This type of research is quasi-experimental research. The study population was the entire class X SMAN 7 Pekanbaru as a hypothetical population. The research sample consisted of 2 classes consisting of class X MIPA 4 totaling 35 students and class X MIPA 2 totaling 36 students. Class X MIPA 4 as an experimental class and class X MIPA 2 as a control class. Data collection using questionnaires and problem descriptions. Validation used in the form of content validation and empirical validation. The validation results show that the instrument is valid and reliable. The analysis technique used to test the effect of mind mapping in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the concept of environmental pollution on metacognitive abilities and learning motivation of class X students of SMAN 7 Pekanbaru is the analysis of the MANOVA test.
The results showed that there was an influence of mind mapping in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the concept of environmental pollution on metacognitive abilities and learning motivation of class X students of SMAN 7 Pekanbaru. Based on the average value of the overall metacognitive ability of the indicator of 87%, including very good category. The best metacognitive indicators for students are the examination of measures with an average value of 92% including the excellent category and students' motivation for learning with an overall average score of 88% including the very good category. The best indicator of student motivation is an indicator of interest / pleasure with an average value of 92% including the excellent category. The Manova test results state that the use of mind mapping in problem based learning models has a significant effect on students' metacognitive abilities and student motivation with a significance value of 0,000
