Pengelolaan Lubuk Larangan Secara Berkelanjutan Di Desa Toboh Marunggai Kabupaten Padang Pariaman Provinsi Sumatera Barat
Abstract
In the Marunggai River there is a restricted area and it is known as “lubuk larangan”, as it is a habitat of Tor tambroides, a rare endemic fish species. A research aims to find out a proper method to manage the Marunggai River restricted area in order to safe the T.tambroides population was conducted in April to August 2019. A quantitative approach method was applied by interviewing the leaders and people living in the Marunggai Village, while the water was sampled 3 times, in the buffer and conservation zones. Water quality parameters in the habitat of T.tambroides were as follows: temperature 23,6 - 25,1 °C, transparency 37-110 cm, depth 37-110 cm pH 6, DO 5,46 - 4,86 mg/L free CO2 2,75-3,15 mg/L and phytoplankton abundance was 201-1.003 sel/L. The participation of the villagers toward the conservation of T.tambroides was high (0.98). Results of the interview shown that the management applied for conserving the restricted area are conducted by : (1) establishing a zonation system for protecting the T.tambroides, (2) establishing a rule and punishment for people who illegally capture T.tambroides, (3) founding a monitoring team to manage and monitor the restricted area.
