Pengaruh Kepadatan Cacing Tanah Pada Berbagai Jenis Mulsa Organik Terhadap Sifat Dystrudepts Dan Produksi Kelapa Sawit
Studies on the combination of organic mulch and earthworms density on the properties of Dystrudepts and oil palm production are scarce. This study aims to determine the effect of organic mulch, earthworm density and it’s interactions and determine the combination of organic mulch and earthworm density which results in improved Dystrudepts properties and the best oil palm production. This research was carried out in the oil palm plantation area of the Agriculture Experiment Station, The Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Riau. Soil Analysis was carried out at the Soil Science Laboratory Universitas Riau. This study uses a split plot design with a randomized basic group design. This study was divided into 3 main plots and 4 sub plots which were repeated 3 times so that there were 36 unit experiment. The main plot is 3 type of organic mulch, namely: M1 (Mucuna bracteata/MB), M2 (oil palm empty fruit bunches/OPEFB) and M3 (oil palm midrib/OPM). Sub plot is the density of earthworms consisting of 4 levels, namely C0: without worms, C1: 35 earthworms.m-2, C2: 50 earthworms.m-2, C3: 65 earthworms.m-2. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and to determine the difference between the average of the treatment was tested by LSD at 5% significance level. The results of the analysis showed that the Mucuna bracteata (MB) organic mulch resulted in a higher infiltration, C-organic, total N rate and lower content weight and C/N ratio compared to Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (OPEFB) and Oil Palm Midrib (OPM). OPEFB produces total K, K-dd which is higher than MB and OPM. OPM produces P available and Na-exchange is higher than MB and OPEFB. Organic mulch has not yet affected the increase of the number palm oil fruit. The density of worms 65 earthworms.m-2 produces total pore room, permeability, higher infiltration rate and lower weights than lower earthworm densities. The density of earthworms has not affected the increase of the number palm oil fruit. The combination of Mucuna bracteata organic mulch and worm density of 65 worms/m2 of soil produces total pore room, permeability, infiltration rate, C-organic, N-total, P available higher and the weight of contents is lower than other combinations. However, the combination of treatments has not affected the increase of the number palm oil fruit.
