This research motivated by listening ability of children age 4-5 years in TK Negeri Pembina Sorek Dua Pangkalan Kuras Subdistrict of Pelalawan Regency that have not develop optimally. This research aimed to know could the storytelling method with hand puppet increase listening ability of children age 4-5 years in TK Negeri Pembina Sorek Dua, and to know the amount of improvement in listening ability. The subject of this research are 14 children in Group A of TK Negeri Pembina Sorek Dua Pangkalan Kuras Subdistrict of Pelalawan Regency. The method of this research is Classroom Action Research that have 2 cycle, and in each cycle consists of 4 stage namely planning, implementation of action, observation, and reflection. This research used observation as the data retrieval techniques. Based on the data analysis, known that the average of children’s listening ability before the Cycle is 43.57%. After use storytelling method with hand puppet in Cycle I, the children’s skill increase until 50.95%, while the average of Cycle II is 76.78%. It means that storytelling method with hand puppet are effective to increasing listening ability for children age 4-5 years in TK Negeri Pembina Sorek Dua of Pangkalan Kuras Subdistrict of Pelalawan Regency.
