Strategi Indonesia Dalam Menghadapi Dumping Impor Besi Baja Tiongkok Tahun 2018 (Studi Kasus Pt Krakatau Steel)
Nationa steel industry is vital to Indonesia and was in good condition for several years. In years of 2010-2018 China tried to control its market in Indonesia. Indonesia accused China did dumping to access better market. This research describe Indonesian’s strategies to chalenge China’s steel bad practices. In 2018 China cheated importing carbon steel products into alloy steel. Indonesian government immediately carried out protectionism against the national steel industry.
This research is a descriptive qualitative, with nation-state level of analysis, and protectionism theory in mercantilism perspective. To answer the question, authors collected data from books, journals, websites, dictionaries, and final reports from PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk as well as several information from the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Anti-Dumping Committee regarding efforts and Indonesia's strategies towards dumping steel imports from China.
The result indicated that Indonesia extended the imposition of Anti Dumping Import Duty (BMAD) until 2024 for H section and I section steel products from China, listed in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 24 in 2019 set on 18 March 2019, and revising the Regulation of the Minister of Trade No. 110 of 2018 concerning Provisions on the Import of Iron and Steel, Alloy Steel and its Derivative Products, which includes supervision of imported steel supervision in broder schemes through logistic centers (PLB) for protection implemented by Indonesian government for the national steel industry. Indonesian government also start stabilizing SNI standardization for local steel.
