Bahasa Slang Pada Komunitas Entertainment Pekanbaru

The purpose of this study was to describe the type and function of slang in the Pekanbaru entertainment community. This research belongs to descriptive qualitative research. Data was collected by recording, note taking, and interview techniques. Data is analyzed by the steps of identifying data, classifying data, analyzing data, and concluding. The results of the study are the Pekanbaru entertainment community using slang language types and functions. 193 data were found consisting of 6 types of jargon, 3 types of prokem, 183 types of argot, and 1 type of colloquial. Based on the slang language function data in the Pekanbaru entertainment community there are 24 referential function topics, 4 emotive/expressive function data, 1 conative function data, and 1 fat function data.
