Perancangan Antena Kombinasi Struktur Heksagonal Metamaterial Untuk Aplikasi Pencitraan Medis
The development of technology by choosing structures and materials is always prioritized to achieve good quality work performance. Also, expensive production costs and large dimensions are quite considered. Metamaterial structures with characteristics that are different from other materials can cover these deficiencies. The hexagonal split ring resonator (SRR-H) metamaterial produces DNG (double negative) material properties with a negative refractive index because of relative negative permittivity and permeability. This research was conducted in a simulation by applying a combination of 1-4 and variations in the radius of the SRR-H metamaterial structure operated at frequencies from 0 to 9 GHz and then applied in medical antenna applications as a detector to increase conventional antenna parameters such as return loss RL, bandwidth BW, VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio), gain, and radiation pattern (directivity). Based on the results of the study an increase in the negative refractive index and a shift in the resonant frequency downward tend to lower frequencies with the addition of the SRR-H metamaterial structure. The negative refractive index increased from - 6.64 to - 9.33 from the addition of up to four SRR-H metamaterials at a radius of 2.9 mm. Metamaterial with four SRR-H combinations for a 2.9 mm radius succeeded in increasing antenna parameters higher than other types of combination antennas with RL (- 55.91 dB), BW (7.91 GHz) and gain (6.02 dBi).
