This study aims to determine based on the facts and documentation analyzed that the drivers of two-wheeled motor vehicles have committed many violations against the flow of traffic included in deviant behavior, in which cases of violations against the flow cause traffic accidents in Tampan District and prevention efforts from the Tampan Police Sector Traffic Unit that has not been maximized. The subjects in this study were motorized two-wheeled motorists and the Tampan Police Traffic Unit. The data collection technique used was purposive sampling with a total of 8 people. Analysis of the data used is qualitative with a descriptive approach which is then analyzed based on the theories in this study.
The results showed that violations against traffic flow were caused by culture against the flow, knowledge and understanding of traffic, only obedient when there were no police, lack of awareness in obeying traffic and lack of socialization of the law. In conducting prevention efforts, the Tampan Police Traffic Unit Unit imposed preventive and repressive policies, so as to reduce violations against traffic flow in the Tampan District of Pekanbaru City.
