The background of this study shows that most children have not been able to recognize geometry well based on daily life. 2 Son has not been able to create his own geometry such as square, rectangle, triangle, circle and rhombus. Children have not been able to distinguish the circle with a triangle, the method used so far still using conventional methods of lecture method. Even the media used does not fit with the concept of geometry in children aged 4-5 years.
Based on the background, the researcher did the improvement and optimize the ability to recognize the concept of geometry in children according to the level of development of his age. The purpose of this research is 1) to know the improvement of geometry ability in children aged 4-5 years through game dakon geometry, 2) to know how the application of geometry dakon game to be able to improve the ability to know geometry in children aged 4-5 years. 3) to know the great improvement of geometry ability through game of geometry dakon at 4-5 year old child in PAUD Filosopia Rantau Panjang Kiri Hilir Kecamatan Kubu BabussalamKabupaten Rokan Hilir.
This type of research is a classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles. In 1 cycle there are 3 meetings. The data collection tool used in this research is in the form of observation sheet. The number of samples in this study were 15 children consisting of 9 boys and 6 girls.
Based on the assessment process analysis of 2 cycles an increase. Increasing that happened from before action to cycle I equal to 37,38%, cycle I to cycle II equal to 42,85%, and increase from before cycle to cycle II equal to 96,25%. From the results of this study obtained the conclusion that through the game dakon geometry can improve the ability to recognize geometry in children aged 4-5 years in early childhood PAUD PAUD Filosopia Rantau Panjang Kiri Hilir Kecamatan Kubu BabussalamKabupaten Rokan Hilir.
