This study aims to determine the improvement of listening ability through the method of telling the story with hand puppet media in children aged 4-5 years in the group playing Al-Abrar Sub Gunung Toar Kuantan Singingi Regency. The number of subjects in this study were 15 children who were in the Group Play Al-Abrar Sub Gunung Toar Kuantan Singingi Regency. The data collection technique used is observation. This research includes quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitatively, the collected data is analyzed by descriptive percentage. The rate of change that occurs is measured by percent, while qualitatively describes the activities of children and teachers obtained through observation, interview and performance during the study. Based on the result of hypothesis testing, the ability to listen to children aged 4-5 years can be improved through the method of telling the story with hand puppet media done with 2 cycles. And in each cycle conducted 3 times meeting. The increase in listening ability of children aged 4-5 years is known from the initial data average of 39.67 to cycle 1 51.56 has increased by 29.97% and increase from cycle 1 (51.56) to cycle 2 to 76.44 with Big increase 48.28%. The increase in the ability to listen to children aged 4-5 years in the Group Play Al Abrar Gunung Toar District Kuantan Singingi amounted to 92.72%.
