The background of this study is that most children who have not been able to perform fine motor movements such as using both hands to do the task, holding objects with one hand and using scissors to cut simple shapes, simple folding, squeezing, printing, cutting, and activities Which requires other fine motor skills. In addition, the use of mosaic techniques has not been implemented optimally, so researchers feel the need to conduct research on developing fine motor skills in children aged 5-6 years in Harapan Bunda Kindergarten Bangko District Rokan Hilir Regency, through mosaic techniques.
Based on that background, the researcher did the improvement and optimize the fine morotic ability of the child according to the age level of development. The purpose of this research is (1) to know the improvement of fine motor skills through mosaic technique in children aged 5-6 years. (2) To know the application of mosaic technique in improving fine motor ability in children aged 5-6 years. (3) To find out how big mosaic technique can improve fine motor ability in children aged 5-6 years in TK Harapan Bunda Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan Hilir. This type of research is a classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles. In 1 cycle there are 3 meetings. The data collection tool used in this research is in the form of observation sheet. The number of samples in this study were 15 children consisting of 9 boys and 6 girls.
Based on the analysis of the assessment process of 2 cycles that the mosaic technique can improve fine motor skills in children aged 5-6 years in TK Harapan Bunda Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan Hilir and can be increased from pre-cycle to cycle I and cycle II in MB category to BSH and BSB. The application of the mosaic technique is done by the teacher well so that it can improve the ability of fine motor children in children aged 5-6 years in TK Harapan Bunda Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan Hilir.
The percentage increase of fine motor ability in children aged 5-6 years in TK Harapan Bunda Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan Hilir obtained the average value that is before the cycle to get value 44.05% and increased in the first cycle with an average value of 57.78% and on Cycle II there is an increase that is average value in cycle II reach 80.95%. Percentage improvement of fine motor ability in children aged 5-6 years through fine motor activity through mosaic technique at TK Harapan Bunda Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan Hilir equal to 83.8%..
