Meningkatkan Kemampuan Mengenal Lambang Bilangan Melalui Media Koran Bekas Pada Anak Usia 4-5 Tahun Di Paud Aisyiyah Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan Hilir
The background of this study is that most children have not been
able to calculate the objects in the picture and write the number symbol on the
LKA sheet. The child has not been able to distinguish the numbers, the child in the
count is still lacking. In addition, the media used is less interesting because many
use LKA when doing activities.
Based on these backgrounds, the researcher performs improvements and
optimizes the ability to read the beginning of the child according to the level of
development of his age. The purpose of the implementation of this research is (1) to
know the improvement of the ability to recognize the concept of numbers with the
media used newspapers in children aged 4-5 years (2) to know the application of
newspapers used in improving the ability to recognize the concept of number In
children aged 4-5 years in, and (3) to know the great improvement of ability to
recognize the concept of numbers in children aged 4-5 years through media
newspapers used in PAUD Aisyiyah Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan Hilir.
This type of research is a classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles. In 1
cycle there are 3 meetings. The data collection tool used in this research is in the
form of observation sheet. The number of samples in this study were 15 children
consisting of 8 boys and 7 girls.
Based on the analysis of the assessment process of 2 cycles there is an
increase in the ability to recognize the concept of numbers from before the
implementation of action to cycle I of 32.88% and cycle I to cycle II that is equal to
49.50% and increase from before the cycle to cycle II of 98.65 %. Means by using
old newspapers can improve the ability to recognize the concept of the number of
children aged 4-5 years in PAUD Aisyiyah Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan
Hilir, in accordance with expectations made in this study. This increase occurs
because each stage of the implementation of the cycle held improvements in
carrying out learning activities.
The application of used newspaper media has been maximal (Good) to
improve the ability to recognize the concept of child number at the 3rd meeting of
cycle II. The use of newspaper used by the teacher better than cycle I to cycle II, is
evidenced from the average value obtained that is before the cycle to get 41.67%
and increased in cycle I with an average value of 55.37% and On the second cycle
there is an increase of the average value in cycle II reaches 82.78%.
