Based on preliminary data of the ability to understand the concept of
numbers in children aged 5-6 years in early childhood PAUD Al-Munawaroh
Sinaboi District Rokan Hilir District, from 15 children assigned to match numbers
with the number symbols of numbers 1-10, found 5 children able to match
numbers with True, and 6 other children still have errors as much as 2-3 numbers
in matching numbers, while 4 more children make mistakes of more than 3
numbers in matching numbers. This phenomenon makes researchers think the
need for cheap and creative educational game tools to attract children in
understanding the concept of numbers, namely: "game tower numbers". To test
this game, a Class Action Research was conducted with a population of 15
children aged 5-6 years consisting of 7 boys and 8 girls from different family
backgrounds. The results of the ability to recognize the concept of numbers can be
increased through the game tower numbers in children aged 5-6 years in early
childhood Al-Munawaroh Sinaboi District Rokan Hilir Regency, this can be seen
from Prasiklus 44.44% increase in Cycle I to 55.78%, and in Cycle II There was
an increase again to 84.07%, from the data obtained by the results of the
calculation of the average increase of children in all activities of 61.42% with the
criteria of Growing Up Expectations. Thus the game tower numbers can be
accepted as a medium to improve the ability to recognize the concept of numbers
in children aged 5-6 years in early childhood PAUD Al-Munawaroh Sinaboi
District Rokan Hilir Regency.
