The ability to recognize the number symbol is one of the goals of National
Education. The increase in the ability to recognize the symbol of numbers can be
seen from every human child. Education of the ability to recognize the symbol of
numbers has become a necessity for school children. Increased ability to
recognize the symbol of numbers in early childhood with interesting and fun
learning and given repeatedly using the strategy of playing stick figures. The
purpose of this research there are two that is to know the increase of the ability to
recognize the symbol of numbers using the strategy of playing stick figures in
children group A in PaudFlamboyanTelukPulau Hulu SubdistrictRimbaMelintang
and describe the increase in the ability to recognize the symbol of numbers using
the strategy of playing stick figures in children group A in PaudFlamboyanTeluk
Hulu Island. This study uses classroom action research (PTK) research tool used
is a child observation sheet, teacher activity observation sheet and obsevation
sheet increase the ability to recognize the symbol of numbers. Subjects in this
study amounted to 20 children with a total of 11 boys and 9 girls. Data analysis
technique used is descriptive statistics. The result of analysis shows that in cycle
one obtained the observation result of teacher activity equal to 63,89%. The result
of observation of activity of children equal to 47,04% and result of increase of
ability to recognize symbol of number equal to 62,00% so that result obtained not
as expected because target determined that equal to 76%. Therefore, it is followed
by research on the second cycle. The result of second cycle analysis obtained by
observation of activity of teacher equal to 91,66%, observation of activity of child
equal to 74,75% and observation increase ability to recognize symbol of number
equal to 77,33%. From the results of this study can be concluded that the increase
in the ability to recognize the number symbol can be improved using the strategy
of playing stick figures.
