Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Unggulan Kelas X Man 2 Model Pekanbaru Pada Pembelajaran Biologi Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016
The goal of this study is to give description about the ability of critical thinking students of excellent class X MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru in learning Biology academic year 2015/2016. This study was conducted on Mei-June 2016. The sample of this study was 24 students. The instrumen of collecting data was daily assessment of basic competence, the value of Biology report on first semester, closed survey, open survey, and test of critical thinking ability. Closed survey consists of 30 items from 5 indicators, ability of analyzing, synthesizing, recognizing and solving the problem, evaluation and assessment. After conducting validity and reliability at the second step all items of closed survey was valid and reliable. While, the test of critical thinking ability consists of cognitiv C4 C5 and C6, collected data analyze by descriptive text. Therefore, the description of ability of critical thinking students of Excellent class MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru toward closed survey gathered as: the ability to analyze 3.4 with good category, synthesizing 3.5 with good category, recognizing and solving problem 3.4 with good category, concluding 3.4 with good category, evaluating or assessment 3.4 with good category. From those five indicators students showed good category by average 3.4. The test of ability of critical thinking in cognitive C4 70.8% with good category, C5 62.9% with enough category and C6 53.3% with less category those percentage showed students have enough category in critical thinking by average 62.3%. Whereas, the correlation between students academic ability and critical thinking ability gather value rhitung > rtabel that is by rhitung 0.5456 and rtabel 0.404 it shows correlation between student academic ability and critical thinking ability with medium category in learning Biology.
