Strategi Pengelolaan Kampus Bina Widya Universitas Riau Berkelanjutan Untuk Mendukung Ui Greenmetric World University Rankings

The Green Campus Program has basically been carried out on various campuses, both in developed and developing countries. This program aims to help reduce the effects of global warming and create awareness and concern for the campus community to participate and be responsible for preserving the environment. Several countries around the world are starting to aggressively develop rating system tools specifically for universities, one of which is the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. In this regard, Riau University has carried out various efforts in protecting and managing the environment based on mandatory environmental permits and voluntary campus management policies.
These efforts must be further optimized and reviewed with integrated management, namely in the aspects of structuring infrastructure, utilization of energy, water, waste, use of transportation and management of Education. These aspects are very important in supporting the University of Riau's program towards a Green Campus. Riau University continues to strive to achieve targets for sustainability in its participation in UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. In addition, the Riau University also has a high commitment to the problem of environmental sustainability in the annual ranking, where in 2019, the Riau University experienced a downgrading of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings to be 20th in Indonesia and 407th in the world ranking (UI GreenMetric, 2019).
The aims of study were to analyze the environmental management of Bina Widya Campus, Riau University (physical condition of chemical, biological, economic and social) based on the environmental permit that has been issued, analyze the implementation of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings of Bina Widya Campus, Riau University, and determine the strategy of optimizing sustainable management in Bina Widya Campus, Riau University to support UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.
Based on the analysis result, environmental management at Bina Widya Campus Universitas Riau has been in accordance with the implementation of environmental permit management, the parameter of biologocal chemical physical condition still does not exceed determined quality standards, while based on the interview result, the community perception is excellent on economic condition and business opportunity at Bina Widya Campus of Universitas Riau.
The participation of Universitas Riau in UI GreenMetric World University Rankings in 2019 obtained some achievements from the scores of each category, the assessment result from UI GreenMetric secretariat can be known that the level of sustainable campus implementation at Universitas Riau is still low. The criteria of Education and Research (ED) obtained the highest score (65,28%), while water criteria (WR) obtained the lowest score (30,00%). Based on the interview

result of Key Person known that the lowest assessment indicator is waste (WS) with average assessment is 2,5. The water category (WR) has average 2,6. Energy and Climate Change (EC) has average 2,79. Transportation (TR) has average 3,02 and Education and Research (ED) has average 3,6. The highest assessment indicator is space and infrastructure (SI) with average assessment 3,9.
The strategy of optimizing sustainable management of Bina Widya Campus is conducted through multi-parties cooperation; developing the potency of Biodiversity; developing the system of waste management; developing and implementing the management system of energy savings infrastructures; and developing the institutional system through participations of academic staffs at Universitas Riau.
