Analisa Suseptibilitas Magnetik Dan Kandungan Logam Berat Pada Tanah Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit
Analysis of magnetic susceptibility and the content of heavy metals in oil palm plantation soils has been implemented in the Instrumentation and Magnetism Laboratory, FMIPA UNRI, since November 2019 to March 2020. This study aims to analyze magnetic susceptibility, mass susceptibility and magnetic degree and to identify soil composition and the content of heavy metals in oil palm plantation soils at Garuda sakti street, Tapung, Kampar, Riau. There are one hundred samples collected with a distance between them is 24x18 cm and each sample has a mass of 1 kg. The samples were dried, cleaned, mashed and sifted prior to magnetic measurements. Magnetic susceptibility was measured using the Pasco Magnetic Probe PS-2162, Magnetic particles were separated from samples using the NdFeB magnet and identification of soil composition and the content of heavy metals was carried out using the X-Ray Fluorescence spectrometry. The result showed that the value of magnetic susceptibility is in range of (11072031-39491982)x10-8, mass susceptibility of concentrate is in range of (19056438-39554397)x10-8 m3/kg and percentage of magnetic degree is in range of (0.07-0.14)%. The identification of XRF in part per million (ppm) showed that Si is the dominant element, Mn is the smallest amount of element and the contents of heavy metals in soils are V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Pb, Mg, Al, Ti and Sr. This research proves that the analyzed soil has been contaminated by heavy metals such as V, Cr, Al, Fe, Ti and Sr.
