Interaksi Sosial Nelayan Di Tempat Pelelangan Ikan (Tpi) Brondong Kecamatan Brondong Kabupaten Lamongan Provinsi Jawa Timur

ABSTRACT
This research was conducted on September 2019 at Tempat Pelelangan Ikan
(TPI) Brondong, Brondong Sub-District, Lamongan Regency, East Java Province. This
study aims to determine the interactions that occur in local fishermen to fishermen who
come from outside the area and reveal the interactions that occur between fishermen
with fish traders and TPI employees. The method used in this research is a survey
method with a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological concept. The
population in this study were 7 respondents and 5 informants.
From the results of the study, it was found that the social interaction of
fishermen in Brondong was seen from 5 indicators namely are cooperation,
accommodation, tolerance, conflict and competition. The forms of interaction that are
encountered are cooperation with fellow fishermen and the community at TPI
Brondong, accommodation carried out by fishermen if there are problems, tolerance
despite having different cultural backgrounds but the Brondong fishing community lives
side by side safely and peacefully, conflict comes because of differences in feelings and
views between fishermen and competition. The real form of competition is seen from
the interaction process between fishermen in Brondong, namely competition in fishing
and competition in having equipment to catch fish. The similarity of goals and
similarities in the profession are some of the factors that cause social interaction
between fishermen who are in Brondong, both native fishermen and fishermen outside
Brondong.
