Respon Uni Eropa Terhadap Kebijakan War On Drugs Di Bawah Kepemimpinan Rodrigo Rio Duterte Tahun 2016 – 2018 Di Filipina

President Rodrigo Rio Duterte has a controversial policy of “War on
Drug” that punish death penalty for drug user, drug retailer, and illegal
drug operator. The policy result in severe critics from European Union for
human rights’ violation. This research explained reasons of European
Union against “War on Drug” and the response of the Philippine president
Duterte.
This qualitative research collected data from books, journals, official
websites from European Union and Philippine government, and news from
newspapers. Those documents were analyzed to explain the reason of
European Union’s refusal. Theory of the role of international institutions as
facilitators for cooperation from Robert O. Keohane was utilized to answer
the questions.
The research showed European Union condemn “War on Drug”
policy and ordered Duterte to stop the actions. It said as serious human
rights’ violation that has to be terminated. The rejection will lead to
cooperation closing between European Union and Philippine. Duterte is
ignored European Union warning and still continuing the policy.
