Peranan Pemerintah Daerah Dalam Pemberdayaan Industri Kecil Sagu Di Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti

This study aims to determine the role of the Regional Government
in the empowerment of Sago Small Industries in the Meranti Islands
Regency and the factors that influence it. To achieve these objectives,
qualitative research methods are used to decipher data descriptively. Data
collection techniques are done by observation, interviews, and documents
and archives using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques.
The results of the study show: First, the efforts to empower UMKM
carried out by the Meranti Islands Regency Government are only guided
by national laws and regulations. Second, the factors that influence the
empowerment of UMKM in the Kepulauan Meranti Regency include
inhibiting and supporting factors. Inhibiting factors are capital, packing of
food products (packaging), price stability, human resources, and
availability, distribution and market segmentation. The supporting factors
are trained human resources, capital assistance, production equipment
assistance and training.
