Eksistensi Tokoh Dalam Roman Relung-Relung Tajam Karya Bustamam Halimy

This study discuses the existence of each character in the romance Relung-Relung Tajam by Bustamam Halimy. In this study, there are 3 problem formulas that examine the existence of a character, namely the existence of what aesthetic stages are in romance Relung-Relung Tajam by Bustamam Halimy, what are the ethical stages in romance Relung-Relung Tajam by Bustamam Halimy, and what is the existence of the religious stage in romance Relung-Relung Tajam by Bustamam Halimy. This study aims to describe the existence of characters in romance Relung-Relung Tajam by Bustamam Halimy. The benefit of this research is to increase the reader’s understanding and knowledge about literature, especially on the existence of figures contained in romance Relung-Relung Tajam by Bustamam Halimy. The theory of self-existence which includes the aesthetic stage, the ethical stage, and the religious stage. The source of data that became the object of this research is the roman Relung-Relung Tajam by Bustamam Halimy. The research data that writers look for in the form of sentences and quotations of dialogue related to the existence of characters who experienced there stages of existence, namely the aesthetic stage, ethical stage and religious stage. The research method used is a qualitative method that describes the description data. Technique of collecting data in this research is literature study. While the analysis technique used is reducing data, presenting the data and drawing the final conclusion. The data of this study amounted to 59 consisting of 13 characters, each character experienced there stages of existence of the religious stage. The details of 59 data are as follow, at the aesthetic stage found 10 data, the existence of the ethical stage found 38 data, and the existence of the religious stage found 21 data.
