This research was conducted in April – May 2018 in the East Bintan District,
Bintan regency, Province of Kepulauan Riau. With the aim of productivity and
economic efficiency of the fishing effort using the coral trap fishing tool, which is
carried out by the fishing community in the District of East Bintan, Bintan Regency,
Province of Kepulauan Riau. By using a survey method. The results showed that the
average productivity value of the ship was Rp. 69.813.824 per trip with the highest
productivity value for the productivity of fins in 2017 amounting to Rp. 103.805.664
per trip. And the lowest is Rp. 27.600.317. The efficiency value of capture fisheries
business with coral trap fishing gear is greater than one (> 1). With an average
economic efficiency of 1.3 which indicates that the business is economically efficient
or profitable with an average capital period of 5 years.
