ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the data generation, composition, characteristics and
potential of non-domestic waste recycling Developer Area IV Pekanbaru City.
The sampling generation based on SNI 19-3964-1994 was conducted for 8
consecutive days in the Development Region IV of Pekanbaru City, the Bukit Raya
District and the Tenayan Raya District with a total sample of 114 units. The total
result of non-domestic solid waste generation was 0.064 kg/person/day or 0.335
l/person/day. The composition of non-domestic waste includes food waste
28.27%, paper 9.96%, plastic 8.39%, fabric/textile 3.92%, rubber/leather 0.61%,
yard waste 21.04%, wood 10.34%, glass 1.59%, metals 5.03%, and other waste
10.86% with a total average of 100%. Physical characteristics of Non Domestic
Waste Development Region IV Pekanbaru City has an average specific gravity of
0.068 kg/l for Bukit Raya District and 0.069 kg/l for Tenayan Raya District. Nondomestic
solid waste compaction factor is 1.12 liters for Bukit Raya District and
1.11 liters for Tenayan Raya District. Chemical Characteristics of Non Domestic
Waste Development Area IV City of Pekanbaru in Bukit Raya District has a water
content of 19.32%, volatile content of 40.12%, ash content of 34.39%, fixed
carbon of 6.12% and District of Tenayan Raya has water content 18.81%,
37.54% volatile content, 38.2% ash content and 5.44% fixed carbon. The
potential for non-domestic waste recycling in Development Region IV Pekanbaru
City produces a total of 1700,68 kg/day with a residual size of 1345,56 kg/day
which consists of three types of processing, composting, recyclable, and RDF
(Refuse Derived Fuel).
