Studi Timbulan, Komposisi Karakteristik Fisika Kimia Sampah (Domestik) Di Wilayah Pengembangan Iv Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine the data on waste generation,
composition, chemical physics characteristics, and the potential for recycling of the
domestic waste in the Development Region IV of Pekanbaru City based on the level of
community income (High income, Medium income, and Low income). Data obtained
from research can be used for planning and developing waste management systems.
Sampling is carried out based on SNI 19-3964-1994. The results showed that the
number of solid waste generated in units of weight in the District of Tenayan Raya
was 0,431 kg/person/day and in the unit volume was 3,376 l/person/day. Waste
generation in Bukit Raya Sub-district is in weight units of 0.483 kg /person/ day and
in volume units of 3,376 l/person/day. The composition of domestic waste in
Development Region IV is dominated by 54.5% food waste, 11.2% foliage, 6.9%
plastic, 5.5% paper, 5.7% textile, 4.2% rubber, 3.4% glass and 3.3% metal. Physical
characteristics of solid waste are specific gravity of 0.155 kg/l and a compaction
factor of 1.09 l/hr. Chemical characteristics of waste are water content of 35.29%,
volatile content of 48.22%, ash content of 5.1% and fixed carbon of 11.22%. The
potential for domestic last product in the Development Region IV is obtained
processed material for composting of 330,88 kg/day, recyclable of 82,37 kg/day, and
last residual 255,112 kg.
Keywords: waste generation, composition of waste, characteristics of waste,
potential for recycling waste.
