Pembuatan Bioetanol Dari Limbah Padat Sagu Menggunakan Enzim Selulase Dan Yeast Saccharomyces Cereviceae Dengan Proses Simultaneous Sacharification And Fermentation (Ssf)
ABSTRACT
Bioethanol is a renewable alternative energy source that can be used as an
alternative fuel. One material that has potential as bioethanol feedstock is sago
solid waste, which is the solid waste of sago industry that has not been optimally.
The content of cellulose in sago solid waste can be converted into bioethanol by
using simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) process. This research
aims to find out how much sago solid waste can be converted into bioethanol with
variation of sago solid waste particle size and cellulase enzyme concentration and
to determine the influence of variations on the concentration of bioethanol. The
variation of this research are the sago solid waste particle size -60 + 80 mesh, -80
+ 100 mesh and -100 + 200 mesh and variations in cellulase enzyme
concentration 0,4 gr and 0,5 gr at the fermentaion time for 72 hours under
operating conditions pH 5 and room temperature. The process uses cellulase
enzymes and Saccharomyces cereviceae yeast for the fermentation process.
Testing of bioethanol levels using alcoholmeters. The results of this research
showed that the highest level of ethanol was 11% with 72 hours fermentation time
on the variation of -100 + 200 mesh sago solid waste particle size and 0.5 gr
cellulase enzyme concentration.
