Tingkat Kesadaran Masyarakat Terhadap Kebersihan Di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Tempat Pelelangan Ikan Belawan Sumatera Utara

Research on the Level of Public Awareness of Cleanliness at the Ocean
Fishing Port at Belawan Fish Auction Place, North Sumatera was aimed to
describe the characteristics of the community, measure the level of public
awareness of cleanliness and analyze the relationship between community
characteristics and the level of awareness in maintaining cleanliness. The data was
collected by distributing questionnaires using a Likert scale. The data analysis
used in this research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques.
The results of this study explain the relationship between community
characteristics and the level of awareness of cleanliness and analyzed using the
Spearman Rank correlation. The result of the level of public awareness of
cleanliness at TPI Belawan is quite conscious (100%). The relationship of each
community characteristic to the level of awareness of cleanliness has different
results. Education and community income have a significant relationship with the
level of awareness of cleanliness while the age and number of dependents of the
community do not have a significant relationship with the level of awareness of
cleanliness at TPI Belawan.
