This research is motivated by the lack of available learning tools that
teachers can use in the learning process. Based on the results of observations and
analysis of the learning tools used by some high school math teachers in
Pekanbaru, it is known that only a small portion of them develop learning tools
while others use learning tools obtained from peers, the internet and other
sources. This study aims to produce a learning device with a cooperative learning
model with the structural approach of Numbered Head Together (NHT) that
meets the criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness to improve student
learning outcomes in the sequence and series material.
The type of research used is research and development research. The
learning tools developed use the 4-D model, namely define, design, develop, and
disseminate. The learning tools developed were syllabus, lesson plan, student
worksheet and learning outcome tests. The instrument used to obtain data on the
validity of learning devices was a validation sheet. While the instruments used to
collect practical data were the implementation observation sheets and student
response questionnaires. The instrument used to obtain data on effectiveness was
the learning outcome test questions. The learning device is said to be valid if the
percentage of validity is more than 70% and can be tested.
Practical instruments use questionnaire responses from teachers and
students. Questionnaires for teacher and student responses used a 1-4 Likert scale
with the criteria of Very Unsuitable, Unsuitable, Suitable, and Very Suitable.
Learning equipment is said to be practical if the percentage of practicality is
more than 70%.
Learning outcome data is used to measure the effectiveness of mathematics
learning tools with the NHT structural approach cooperative learning model
developed on student learning outcomes. This instrument is in the form of
learning outcome test questions. The learning device is said to be effective if the
significant value is smaller than 0.05 so that it can be stated that there are
differences in learning outcomes between students who use developed learning
tools and students who do not use the developed learning tools.
The results of the analysis of the validity of the syllabus reached 92%, RPP
reached 92.07%, and LKPD reached 94.33%. The results of the analysis of the
validity of the learning outcomes test reached 90.74%. The three validators
concluded that the syllabus, lesson plans, LKPD and learning outcome test
questions could be used with minor revisions. Thus, the learning device developed
deserves to be tested as a learning tool in line and series material.
The result of the readability of the learning tools in the small group trial of
the LKPD was 93.99%. Based on the student response questionnaire to the
LKPD, the overall average was 93.42% and the teacher's response was 93.88%.
Thus, the learning tools developed can be concluded practical.

The effectiveness of product development in terms of pretest and posttest data on
learning outcomes obtained a value of p = 0.000. The level of significance p < 
= 0.05, so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected or there are differences in
student learning outcomes before and after using the device. That is, the
mathematics learning device with the application of cooperative learning model
of the NHT structural approach is effective for improving student learning
outcomes in the series and series material.
