Pengaruh Variasi Jumlah Spent Bleaching Earth (Sbe) Dan Kapur Karbonat Terhadap Kualitas Batako
The influence of Spent Bleaching Earth (SBE) and carbonate lime variations on
the quality of bricks is one alternative in order to find alternative variations to the
quality of bricks. The characteristic of SBE and carbonate lime almost resemble
sand, but have finer particles, therefore both of these materials were used in this
research as a substitute for some sand in brick making. The purpose of this
research was to utilize SBE and lime carbonate on the manufacture of bricks,
determining the effect of the variation treatment in adding the amount of SBE and
lime carbonate used in the manufacture of bricks against the quality of bricks. The
quality of the brick is determined based on dry weight, the entangled power of the
brick against the water and the bricks strong pressure. This research also made
bricks without the addition of SBE and carbonate lime used as a comparison. In
this research, the manufacture of one piece of brick was done using a fixedel
variable, i.e. cement 2,5 kg while the changed variables were the amount of sand,
SBE and lime carbonate. The result showed that the SBE bricks and carbonate
lime that have most quality are bricks with a composition of 2,5 kg of cement, 8,1
kg of sand, 0,2 kg of SBE and 0,10 kg of carbonate lime. This brick has a pressure
strength of 99,96 kg/cm2 and meets SNI-03-0349-1989 quality I, with absorbence
brick to water by 1,25% to SNI 15-2094-2000. It also weights 7,98 kg.
