Penentuan Kinerja Bahan Bakar Dari Campuran Minyak Jelantah Dan Pertalite Pada Kompor Mawar
The mixture of used cooking oil with pertalite has not been widely used by people to
fuel rose stoves. In general, kerosene is used as fuel for rose stoves, but kerosene is
very expensive. This study aims to find alternative fuels to replace kerosene for rose
stoves. To get the best performance of Mawar's stove, a variation of the ratio of used
cooking oil-pertalite (9: 1 and 8: 2) mixture ratio was treated as fuel. Before use, the
used cooking oil was givenadsorbent detergent 15 grams of, then separated between
theadsorbent detergent and the used cooking oil by filtering using gauze, then mixing
the used cooking oil with Pertalite as much as 2 liters. The fuel mixture is analyzed
before and after use on the stove. Stove performance is determined based on the color
of the flame, the time it takes to boil 1 liter of water and the time it takes 1 liter of fuel
to burn out. The results showed that the best fuel performance is having a blue red
flame color, the time to boil 1 liter of water for 22:49 minutes and the time required
for 1 liter of fuel to burn out is 1 hour, 4 minutes, 10 seconds. This fuel is a mixture of
used cooking oil with pertalite at a ratio of 9: 1.The characteristics of this fuel
include a density of 0.877 gr / cm3, a viscosity of 54.228 mm2/ s, a heating value of
43.527 J / kg and a flash point of 39oC.
Key words: detergent, rose stove, used cooking oil, pertalite.
