Penentuan Kinerja Bahan Bakar Dari Campuran Minyak Jelantah Dan Premium Pada Kompor Mawar
The mixture of cooking oil and premium has not been widely utilized as a fuel for
rose stoves. So far, a vast majority of people use kerosene in rose stoves, however
the cost is very expensive. The purpose of this research was to find the alternative
fuels in order to replace kerosene for rose stoves. To obtain the best fuel
performance, the ratio used cooking oil and premium mixture varies (9: 1 and 8:
2). Before using to practice on the rose stove, 15 grams of detergent absorbent was
added to the used cooking oil, then agitated it for 3 minutes and let it stand for 15
minutes. Then the detergent absorbent and used cooking oil was separated by
filtering using gauze, and the fuel mixture was analyzed. The performance of the
mixed-fuel rose stove is determined based on the color of the flame, the time taken
to boil 1 liter of water and the time taken to burn down 1 liter of fuel. As a result,
the best performance of the rose stove showed having a blue and yellow flame, the
time taken to boil 1 liter of water is 22 minutes 49 seconds and the time taken to
burn down 1 liter of fuel is 45 minutes 35 seconds. This is obtained from ratio of 8:
2 of the used cooking oil and premium mixture. The characteristics of this fuel were
density of 0.877 gr/cm3, viscosity of 36.833 mm2/s, heating value of 43,346.94 J/kg
and flash point of 39℃.
