Analisis Kualitas Air Limbah Rumah Potong Hewan (RPH) Dan Air Sumur Bor Di Sekitar Rph Ruminansia Ciptakarya Panam Pekanbaru
The establishment of slaughterhouses (RPH) on the background by the increase in the consumption of animal food products by the community so that the government established Ruminant Slaughterhouse, aimed at providing animal products that are safe, healthy, whole and halal. The RPH, which was established in 2002, has a Waste Water Treatment Plant (IPAL) which functions to process the waste water produced by Ruminant RPH. The condition of the IPAL and its apprehensive equipment affects the quality of wastewater produced by Ruminant RPH. The waste water that is produced is thought to exceed the quality standard. Wastewater that exceeds the quality standard when discharged into the environment will cause a decrease in environmental quality such as surface water contamination that seeps into the ground causing groundwater pollution. Groundwater that is polluted in quality will decrease so that it can no longer be used according to its purpose. The people living around the Ruminant Slaughterhouse generally use well water to clean food, wash clothes and other necessities. Based on this explanation, this study was conducted which aims to analyze the quality of Ruminant RPH waste water in Pekanbaru City and compare it with the quality standard, namely PermenLH No.5 of 2014. Analyze water quality of community housing boreholes located close to IPAL RPH (± 5 meters) and located far from IPAL RPH (± 50 meters), compare it with Permenkes No.416 / Men.kes / Per / IX / 1990 and analyze socio-economic impacts people living around the RPH. It is suspected that there are pollutant parameters that exceed the quality standard, originating from slaughterhouse waste water which can reduce the quality of borehole water in community housing. The wastewater parameters measured were BOD, COD, TSS, fatty oil, organic nitrogen and pH. The well water parameters are color, smell, taste, TDS, pH, nitrate, nitrite, sulfate, and total coliform. This research is a descriptive quantitative research, by making direct observations to the research location and seeing the condition of the location and the suitability of the location which is the sampling point of the study. Sampling and handling of samples are carried out based on SNI 6989.59-2008. Wastewater samples are combined samples taken from one point at different times with the same volume. Sampling was carried out every week three times at one point (IPAL outlet) with a volume of ± 5 liters and a retention time of every 15 minutes and tested in the laboratory for analysis of contaminant parameters, referring to PermenLH No. 5 of 2014. Drilled well water samples are piped water taken directly without storage, carried out at a distance of ± 5 meters and ± 50 meters from the IPAL RPH. Sampling was done aseptically as much as ± 5 liters with a retention time of 15 minutes.

The results of this study indicated that Ruminant RPH wastewater was above the quality standard, namely BOD, COD, TSS, fatty oil, NH3-N except for the pH parameter which was still below the quality standard. Drilled well water with a distance of approximately 5 meters does not meet the quality standards for clean water quality including the total coliform and nitrate parameters. Other parameters, namely smell, color, taste, TDS, pH, nitrite, sulfate, meet the quality requirements of clean water referring to Permenkes No.416/Men.kes/Per/IX/ 1990. Drilled well water with a distance of approximately 50 meters meets the requirements for clean water quality that can be utilized by the surrounding community. The existence of the RPH has a positive and negative impact on the socio-economy for the community around the Ruminant RPH. Proper management is needed and absolutely pays attention to the quality of the environment so that its existence does not become a problem for the surrounding community. The economy around Ruminant Slaughterhouse increases due to the proper management of wastewater by using it as fertilizer for plants. Negative impacts such as contamination of water sources for people who live less than 5 meters away from the IPAL RPH affect social life.
