Valuasi Ekonomi Dan Pengelolaan Mangrove Secara Berkelanjutan Di Desa Jangkang Kecamatan Bantan
Mangrove is an ecosystem that has a very important role in supporting life
on the island of Bengkalis . Jangkang Village is one of the villages
on Bengkalis Island, precisely in Bantan District. Jangkang Village is an area
with a coastal village typology. In fulfilling the necessities of life, coastal
communities depend onmarine products who work as fishermen. Jangkang Village
also has typical coastal natural resources, namely, mangroves. Utilization of
mangroves is intended for housing and household needs. However, in its use, it
does not pay attention to sustainability aspects such as overexploitation. This
condition can eventually lead to a decline in the ecological function and
environmental services of the mangrove ecosystem. This study aims to determine
the direct economic valuation, index value and sustainability status, and strategy
for the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem in Jangkang Village.
The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach using
survey method. The data sources are required including primary data and
secondary data. Primary data sources are obtained directly at the research place,
such as fishery and timber commodities in the mangrove forest area. To obtain
primary data, interviews were also carried out with mangrove beneficiaries,
informants and observations. The population in this study was all mangrove users
and stakeholders involved in mangrove management in Bengkalis Regency.
Sampling with purposive sampling technique, which is a sampling method with
certain considerations or deliberate by the researcher. Data analysis to calculate
direct economic valuations such as fishery commodities and mangrove timber
with a market approach. Analysis of the index value and mangrove sustainability
status using the Rap-Mangrove method.
The results showed the direct economic valuation of the mangrove sector
that has the greatest potential for shrimp catchers. The index value and
sustainability status of the mangrove ecosystem in Jangkang Village is based
on multidimensional areas in the Less Sustainable category. The management
orientation for the future pays more attention to sustainability aspects, especially
ecological aspects.
