This research background is the increasing public consumption of fish feed and the difficulty of getting cheap and good quality fish feed. The self-sufficient fish feed movement program (Gerakan Pakan Ikan Mandiri/GERPARI), aims at loosening the dependency toward manufactured fish feed through locally available raw material usage, hopefully could become the model of business development for Indonesian fish feed businesses. This research purpose is intending on developing a business model of a community-based, self-sufficient fish feed business.
The research purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of the self-sufficient fish feed movement program in Pangean Sub-district, Kuantan Singingi District and to find out what factors influence program implementation in Pangean Sub-district, Kuantan Singingi District.this research used a ualitative descriptive approach method. Primary data is obtained directly through interviews with informants, namely the head of the Kuantan Singingi Regency fisheries and marine technical team, Gerpari technical team, Gerpari beneficiary group.
The research results of this study indicate that the implementation of the self-sufficient fish feed movement program in Pangean Sub-district, Kuantan Singingi district has not achieved the expected results. Where in its implementation the infrastructure and infrastructure provided are inadequate and there is no further supervision which results in the program stopping in the middle of its journey.
