Histopatologi Insang Dan Ginjal Ikan Lele Dumbo (Clarias Gariepinus) Yang Direndam Dalam Larutan Daun Salam (Syzygium Polyantha)
Bay leaf (Syzygium polyantha) is one of the phyto-pharmacy plants which
contains chemicals such as essential oils, tannins, flavonoids, saponins and
triterpenoids which function as antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory.
The purpose of this research was to see the changes that occurred in the gill tissue
and kidneys of African catfish immersed in a solution of bay leaf. The method
used was an experimental method with one-factor completely randomized design
(CRD) with four levels of treatment. The treatments applied were P0 (without
immersion in bay leaf solution), P1, P2 and P3 (doses of 1000, 1100, and 1200
ppm). immersion was carried out 5 times with an interval of 48 hours, each for 10
minutes. Procedure histological were fixation, sample dehydration, clearing,
infiltration, embedding, cutting, staining, rehydration, and finally mounting. The
results showed that there was an effect of immersion in the bay leaf solution on
the tissue structure of the gills and kidneys. Based on the statistical test of
variance analysis (ANOVA), it was found that African catfish soaked with a
solution of bay leaf had no significant effect on lamella width (P> 0.05), and had a
significant effect on the distance between the lamellae. (P
